Israel is a love story. A beautiful love story and a sad one of Biblical proportions. To read correctly the Israeli love story, we must understand Isaac and Ishmael.

Isaac represents quality: kindness, intelligence and beauty; whereas, Ishmael represents quantity. To understand the Israeli-Palestinian War and the dependence Israel has on the US, one must understand this story.

America is a beautiful and wonderful nation with almost all the treasure it will ever need inside its borders and more than enough food and water. But America lacks energy and refuses to drill her own oil. The oil-producing nations of the Middle East have America over a barrel, pun intended.

America's birthrate is at an all-time low due to a variety of social reasons and a utopian-like collection of tolerance-promoting classes, which essentially teach that humans must accept every other human in the world as family. Hence, the border problems.

America is a nation of democratic, Western values, which goes about its business, pleasing the many rather than the few. The economy is based on capitalism and an open manner of distribution of income.

America must attract English-speaking workers for its many, many jobs. The US health industry, for example, is one of many industries that is becoming desperate for English-speaking workers. The US is aggressively reaching out to people all over the world to fill these positions. Home mortgages are offered to potential workers if they can provide proof of work. The US banks providing these mortgages can foreclose on those who don't make their monthly payments.

Capitalism depends on having many, many consumers for a healthy and robust economy. Ishmael is very appealing to American capitalists, who dream of 1.2 billion Muslims buying food, clothes, homes, McDonalds, Starbucks, machine guns, airplanes, missiles and computers, and all the parts and services, too.

Those dreamers picture Ishmael in his own mortgaged home somewhere in Arabia, going to and from his job making American goods and having a big family to consume even more goods, staying too busy to consider terrorism, hopefully.

Wanting Ishmael more than Isaac is not a sickly or negative state. It has to do with quantity; with numbers, which is the driving force of democracy, capitalism and votes.

The reason President Bush hasn't invited Prime Minister Sharon to the White House lately has very little to do with Sharon's disengagement plan for Gaza and very much to do with Bush not wanting to discuss peace agreements and Roadmaps with those upstanding, moral, peace-loving Palestinian Authority Muslims while Iraqi Muslims are murdering US troops. At least not in public during an election year.

One would think Sharon would be too embarrassed to discuss a Palestinian State at this time, but one's thinking would be delusional. I thought at the very least, Sharon would have offered an exchange of populations: Jewish Gazans move to Yesha (Judea, Samaria and Gaza), while Yesha Muslims move to Gaza. My thinking must be delusional, too. The Saudis and the US would find reason to object to it for one reason or another

Americans love fairy tales. The Left dreams of a peaceful Palestinian State, while the Right dreams of a democratic Iraqi state, while some dream of both. One may ask what these dreamers have in common. The answer would be Christianity, in general. We should keep in mind that the majority of Christians feel uncomfortable when the Original Testament and the New Testament are mentioned in the same sentence.

It is just a short time ago that we were feeling the intense heat of The Passion of Christ, when all of a sudden, the sizzling, mangled and murdered bodies of Madrid forced us all to look closer at reality.

I dream of the Alliance of Betrayed Nations, which will include the democratic nations of Israel, India, Taiwan, Hong Kong and South Korea.

The story of Israel is a love story. If Jews were as smart and wise as many seem to think we are, we would realize the Americans and the rest of the world are obsessed and fixated with our story, for a variety of reasons.

Israel remains a story of Biblical proportions. Our story is one of deeply rooted conflict, blood, tears, grief, dazzling splendor, laughs, battles, stunning bravery, shocking surprises and a deep, profound love for Israel.

Our story must not be prolonged indefinitely. There are too many dead Jews and too many maimed Jews and too many Jewish orphans. We are terrorized. We cannot and should not remain in limbo any longer.

What do the PA Muslims fear the most? It is not Sharon, Bush, the European Union or the United Nations. They fear Israel going it alone, with only Hashem as our ally.

It is time to give them what they fear the most: A Declaration of War; a preemptive strike; a demonstration of exactly what "with love of Israel" really means.
