The Jews are the cowardly exception. Israel is the cowardly exception.

There is a global war on terror declared by the president of the United States and undertaken against the international collection of fanatics, suicide bombers, radical Islamists and West-haters. But that war does not include the war on the enemies of the Jews, the enemies of Israel, because the Jews are the cowardly exception. They can be murdered with impunity by the Palestinian terror organizations, all of which belong to the Palestinian national cause, and still the world, still the United States, supports a state for the murderers, for the people eighty percent of whom cheers at the murder of innocent civilians - so long as they are Jews.

No, there is no sanction against the Palestinians and their national cause. They proclaim, all of them proclaim, that their aim is the destruction of Israel. Yasser Arafat's Fatah and Tanzim, and Sheik Yassin's Hamas, are united in their use of any means possible to kill and destroy Jews, and to destroy the Jewish state.

Instead of urging Israel to engage in an all-out war against the leaders and organizations of terror, the United States has extracted from Israeli Prime Minister Sharon a promise not to touch one hair on the head of the godfather of international terror, the one who was ordering airplane hijacking, the bombings of American facilities abroad, and the killing of sportsmen long before Osama Bin Laden was ever even thought of. The United States is the protector of Yasser Arafat and of the fundamentalist Sheik Yassin, as well as of Sheik Nasrallah, the Hizbollah terror head in Lebanon, because it continually warns Israel against taking action against them.

And Israel, like a little lap dog, assents to the US diktat because it knows that should the U.S. decide to go along with Terror International at the U.N., then Israel will be isolated completely. So when there are terrorist actions in which Jews have been killed - a process that has been going on now for three years intensely - Israel, too, restrains itself and does not wage an all-out war against the terrorist groups and their leaders. For to the present government of Israel, too, the Jews are the 'cowardly exception', the ones the terrorists can kill and get away with killing without being fully and completely punished and stopped.

This does not mean Israel has not been engaging in a war against terror, it does not mean that there have not been thousands of actions, including those in which Israelis have acted with courage and initiative; it only means that the policy of restraint enacted from the beginning, and at times lifted (such as after the slaughter at the Passover Seder in Netanya) has spared the major terror leaders and organizations, and has enabled the terror to continue.

Israel now should at last act to do what it was created to do, protect each and every Israeli life. And it should do this now, by wiping out the terrorist leaders and their organizations ruthlessly and completely.

It should at least show its own people that we are not willing to be 'the cowardly exception' any longer.

When that happens, the US. government, too, will have no choice but to assent to what is, after all, nothing but a major cooperative step in its worldwide campaign against international terrorism.
