[How is it that only the Israelis know that World War III started on September 11, 2001?]

Way back a lifetime ago, in 2003, the Reuters News Agency was taken to task by HonestReporting.com for appearing to legitimize Hamas by deceptively reporting that the goal of the radical, Wahabbi-type conservative Muslim terrorist organization is to pursue independence from Israel for Palestinian controlled lands, rather than reporting that the goal of Hamas is to destroy Israel and eliminate all Jews from the land.

Want to know what the Hamas agenda really is? Let's find out by reading their own official published documents.

Presuppositional Base: Conservative Islam

Here are eight statements about Hamas (the word Hamas is an Arabic language acronym that translates into English as "The Islamic Resistance Movement"). Please read all eight statements very carefully and then join me, below.

1. The Islamic Resistance Movement draws its guidelines from Islam; derives from it its thinking, interpretations and views about existence, life and humanity; refers back to it for its conduct; and is inspired by it in whatever steps it takes.

2. The basic structure of the Islamic Resistance Movement consists of Muslims who are devoted to Allah and worship Him.

3. The Movement welcomes all Muslims who share its beliefs and thinking, commit themselves to its course of action, keep its secrets and aspire to join its ranks in order to carry out their duty.

4. Its ultimate goal is Islam, the Prophet its model, the Qur'an its Constitution. Its special dimension extends wherever on earth there are Muslims, who adopt Islam as their way of life.

5. The Islamic Resistance Movement is a distinct Palestinian Movement, which owes its loyalty to Allah, derives from Islam its way of life and strives to raise the banner of Allah over every inch of Palestine.

6. Allah is its goal, the Prophet its model, the Qur'an its Constitution, Jihad its path and death for the case of Allah its most sublime belief.

7. The Islamic Resistance Movement believes that the land of Palestine has been an Islamic waqf (religious trust) throughout the generations and until the Day of Resurrection; no one can renounce it or part of it, or abandon it or part of it. No Arab country, nor the aggregate of all Arab countries, and no Arab king or president, nor all of them in the aggregate, have that right, nor has that right any organization or the aggregate of all organizations, be they Palestinian or Arab, because Palestine is an Islamic waqf throughout all generations and to the Day of Resurrection.

8. Peace initiatives, the so-called peaceful solutions, and the international conferences to resolve the Palestinian problem, are all contrary to the beliefs of the Islamic Resistance Movement. There is no solution to the Palestinian problem except by Jihad. The initiatives, proposals and international conferences are but a waste of time, an exercise in futility.

Do you think I'm wrong when I make the claims contained in these statements? Do they sound a bit extremist?

You're correct if you say that the sentences in the paragraph above are extremist statements. But you're wrong if you think they don't summarize the precise ? and I do mean precise ? public manifesto of Hamas. Here's why:

The first statement is a word-for-word quote from Part One ? Knowing the Movement, Article One: The Ideological Aspects of the official 1988 Charter of Allah: The Platform of the Islamic Resistance Movement.

The second statement is a word-for-word quote from Article Three: Structure and Essence of the very same document.

The third statement is a word-for-word quote from Article Four of the very same document.

The fourth statement is a word-for-word quote from Article Five: Dimensions of Time and Space of the Hamas of the very same document.

The fifth statement is a word-for-word quote from Article Six: Peculiarity and Independence of the very same document.

The sixth statement is a word-for-word quote from Article Eight: The Slogan of the Hamas of the very same document.

The seventh statement is a word-for-word quote from Part Three: Strategies and Methods, Article Eleven: The Strategy of Hamas: Palestine is an Islamic Waqf of the very same document.

The eighth statement is a word-for-word quote from Part Three: Strategies and Methods, Article Thirteen: Peaceful Solutions, Peace Initiatives and International Conferences of the very same document.

Public Statements

Dr. Abdel Aziz Rantisi is one of the key leaders of Hamas. He has repeatedly called for the total elimination of the State of Israel. Israeli security officials say the Gaza-based Rantisi is in charge of terrorist attacks policy for Hamas. A pediatrician who speaks fluent English, Rantisi regularly serves as Hamas' spokesman to foreign journalists. He also makes statements to the Palestinian public on behalf of Hamas.

Rantisi is no moderate. His statements, interviews and sermons are filled with incendiary threats of terrorist attacks against Israeli civilians and leaders, and calls for the destruction of the State of Israel and the murder of all its citizens. Rantisi was thrown in jail a number of times by the Palestinian Authority in the 1990s, but his prison stays were short.

According to the Israel Defense Forces, since 1993, Hamas has committed 113 suicide bomb attacks, 72 of them since September 2000, leading to the murder of 227 Israelis and injuring 1,393.

Here's what Dr. Rantisi has said about the "Israeli-Palestinian" problem: "By God, we will not leave one Jew in Palestine. We will fight them with all the strength we have. This is our land, not the Jews." ? From his hospital bed on 10 June 2003.

On Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon: "A liar, terrorist, Nazi, with G-d's help Hamas will strike all of Israel a blow and will kill both Sharon the cur and his friend Peres."

About Suicide Bombers: "I congratulate them. They will teach the Jewish mothers in Haifa, Tel Aviv and everywhere that our blood is not cheap."

On the borders of Palestine: "There is no difference between Akko [Acre], Haifa, Gaza, Jaffa or Nablus. The Palestinian Intifada will continue until the last Zionist is banished."

On the Road Map peace proposal: "This is a Zionist conspiracy against the Palestinian people. Our armed resistance will not stop. On the contrary, Hamas will reach deep into the cities of Israel."

About terrorism: "This is the answer to the Zionist terrorism, in the future we will multiply the suicide bombing attacks and we will carry out operations that will shock the Jews."

On the explosion of Space Shuttle Columbia that killed Israeli astronaut Ilan Ramon: "The explosion of the shuttle Columbia is, it is reasonable to assume, part of the divine punishment of America and, together with it, Zionism ? because of their massacres of Muslims, the destruction of their lives, the humiliation of their honor, and their desire to globalize corruption...."

All but the first quote are from the Hamas website, February 2, 2003.

No peace is possible with monsters such as these. No compromise can be reached, no accord signed, no agreement made.

Concluding Thoughts

A curse be upon their mustaches. We are Dar Al-Harb* ? and proud of it.
