From the land that gave us everything from Billy Beer and Krispy Kreme to Virtual Reality, has come forth that notorious peanut farmer turned president, turned peacemaker, turned false prophet, turned against us to spew-out venom at Israel from the heights of Geneva. Remember that enormous bear hug former President Jimmy Carter gave the last great leader of the modern Jewish State? I guess it knocked the wind out of Menachem Begin, as he wasn?t quite the same after that - and, quite frankly, it?s been a downward spiral for Israel ever since we turned our back on Sinai in 1978.

Notice how World AIDS Day (another Geneva-centered event) coincided with the Geneva Accords ceremony? What?s the connection between AIDS and the Accords? Well, when two or more normally intelligent and educated parties are driven by their personal desires and take a reckless gamble by acting in an irresponsible manner, millions of people are put at risk. I think that definition would fit either plague - AIDS or Oslo. The only difference being how and when one takes preventative measures. It?s highly recommended that when traveling in diplomatic circles nowadays, one should take precautions by wearing disposable latex gloves before engaging in any friendly handshakes.

The boys from Switzerland and the UN are very busy these days. Mark your calendar for December 10th -12th. The World Summit on the Information Society is scheduled to meet in Geneva to discuss a proposal that would put the Internet under United Nations control. Needless to say, the Unites States is totally against the idea. But China, Syria, Egypt, South Africa and Vietnam are supporting the efforts and it appears that Saudi Arabia, Brazil, Russia and India may follow.

It seems that the European, Arab, Third World Bloc, which has over the years manifested itself through UN votes against Israel, is on the loose and vying for a big piece of this world. They call it globalization, but one wonders if the Swiss, with the backing of the UN, are making their bid for a New World Order (New Age Nazism?). This is beyond Orwellian, as it seems that this big brother is more Esauvian.

Just who is it that wants to control the world? You can trash your copy of the Protocols of the Elders of Zion, because the true story reads more like the Protocols of the Elders of the Alps. Anti-Semitism continues to proliferate on all fronts and yes, some of it is our fault - because if we would stop listening to others and do as we were commanded by G-d, then the world would be a much better place. That potential irks our enemies and our failure to actualize our role frustrates our true friends.

Colonization, expansionism, and imperialism are part of the European, Arabic and Asian cultures. It?s a foreign concept to us. We Jews simply want to live creative, productive lives on the little piece of real estate that was eternally bequeathed to us by the highest authority. We want nothing more and nothing less. It?s not that most nations and civilizations are incapable of understanding this concept, it?s more like they can?t stand it. They resent the very morality of it.

And so, in 1973, when we were within miles of Cairo and Damascus, after being attacked on Yom Kippur, the world screamed, ?Foul! See, you?re just like us.? However, we were fighting for our very lives and were not out to conquer the Nile. Had we continued on to a decisive victory and taught our enemies a well-deserved lesson, we may have been much closer to a true peace with our Arab neighbors than we are today. But the international community wouldn?t and couldn?t stand for that.

And so it was in Lebanon, when Yasser Arafat was within Ariel Sharon?s sites, and continues today every time we surround the Chief of Terror?s headquarters. Jewish victory in any way, shape or form must be prevented at all costs. The Arab countries frustrate our plans by creating and exporting Palestinian terror. The international community generates complex and impossible peace proposals.

And we do it to ourselves by producing and encouraging narcissistic and negligent ninnies like Yossi Beilin.

But this is where the Protocols and Agenda of the Elders of the Alps fails. When we Jews submit to world opinion rather than fulfill our obligations, everybody gets hurt. Terror proliferates, as do Osamas, Saddams and Arafats. Then everybody, friends and enemies alike, point the accusing finger at us - because we didn?t do our job.

Jimmy Carter?s speech gave a lot of us the chills, but his interview on CNN was peppered with the following terms, ?forced to accept? and ?ultimate solution? (as in final?). Yes, those are the words from the mouth of the same Jimmy Carter who, when residing in the White House, swindled us. He convinced us to turn our backs on our heritage and on Sinai in return for false promises.

It remains to be seen where America will cast their lot. After all, President George W. Bush is under a lot of pressure from America¹s international coalition partners and the electorate at home. And then there is always the economy to consider. Perhaps the president can come up with a face-saving solution - some sort of perverse mix between the Geneva Accords and the Road Map (the great GRAP initiative).

One thing is for sure, as long as we keep prostrating ourselves towards Esau, we?re going to continue getting kicked in the ass by Yishmael. It would hurt a lot less if we stood up already.
