Aides representing both men say that the meeting was positive. The leaders discussed many issues including state business as well as the upcoming Likud Party primaries. The two camps failed to set a date for those primaries, but negotiations over the issue are set to take place. Sharon and Netanyahu will both be vying for the party's top spot.

In other political news, leaders of the National Religious Party (NRP) have rejected an offer from the National Union-Yisrael Beitenu (NUYB) party to join forces and run on a combined ticket in the upcoming elections.
