G-d will rejoice over His works - in Eretz Yisrael.

G-d is exceedingly strict with His righteous ones, as He was, for example, when Abraham forged a covenant with Avimelech without G-d?s commanding him to do so. G-d said: ?By your life, I shall postpone your children?s joy for seven generations.? (Rabbi Moshe Chaim Luzatto, Mesilat Yesharim, Ch. 4)

Rashbam, as well, comments: ??After these events, G-d tested Abraham [by means of the Akeidah, the binding of Isaac]? (Genesis 22:1): This verse alludes to the preceding section. Abraham had forged a covenant with Avimelech and G-d was angry about that. After all, Eretz Yisrael had been given to Abraham, who was commanded not to give it to any foreign nation.? It was due to Abraham?s conceding on Eretz Yisrael that he was tested with the Akeidah, and that the Jewish People have suffered so much down through the generations (Rashbam, Ibid.).

Eretz Yisrael had been given exclusively to the Jewish People, as it says: ?On that day the L-rd forged a covenant with Avram saying, ?I have given this land to your seed.?? (Genesis 15:18) Only through Jewish control over Eretz Yisrael will G-d?s glory be revealed in the world, and only in Eretz Yisrael do G-d?s bounty and light, intended for the whole world, appear, as it says: ?For out of Zion shall go forth the Torah, and the word of the L-rd from Jerusalem.? (Isaiah 2:4)

Today, none of our opponents and antagonists can bear the fact that the Jewish People are rising up to rebirth in their land. There is still great anti-Semitism in Europe, as was publicized in a survey by the European Union. In that survey, many people pointed to the State of Israel as the greatest threat to the world.

Yet from within, as well, uninformed, faithless individuals are rising up and making agreements in Europe, with the encouragement of the Europeans. In these agreements they are conceding portions of Eretz Yisrael in favor of establishing a state for those who would rob us of our land. By doing this, these individuals think they will bring peace to our land. The opposite is the case. All the agreements and all the talk about any concessions in the land of our life?s blood bring upon us exceedingly harsh trials on a par with the Akeidah, such as the murder of hundreds of Jews, soldiers and civilians.

Such talk strengthens our enemies, who do not relent in their plot to destroy our country. It causes divisiveness and weakens Israeli society, and puts ammunition in the hands of anti-Semites who are raising their head in the world. As Rabbi Moshe Chaim Luzatto puts it, such talk decreases the happiness in the world.

In order to bring true peace we must realize and understand and believe that all of Eretz Yisrael belongs exclusively to the Jewish People, and we must insist on this point. Likewise, we must move to Eretz Yisrael and settle every portion of it, and we must fight for it. We must do all of this not just for ourselves, but for the sake of all of mankind, which is in such great need of light and joy and the fulfillment of G-d?s blessing: ?All the families of the earth shall be blessed through you.? (Genesis 12:3) Then joy will increase for our people and for the whole world, and ?G-d will rejoice over His works.? (Psalm 104:31)
