Something strange has happened to the Israeli Left. After Binyamin Netanyahu's victory in the 1996 elections, Shimon Peres said in an interview to Ha'aretz: "The Jews have defeated the Israelis." But Peres was wrong. That political victory was nothing more than a search for a place in the sun. The direction of progress continued to be dictated by the real rulers - the rulers of culture and the media, of the military and internal security organizations, of the prosecution and the courts, and of the economy.

So, although the Jews won the battle, the Israelis have defeated the Jews in the war. The process of uprooting the Jewish nation from its country and its identity, using Yasser Arafat, known by the code name of "the Peace Process", continues with undiminished effort.

The Israelis have defeated the Jews, but it is slightly more difficult to defeat reality, or in other words, the Creator. The level of the blood in the swamp of the "Peace Process" overflowed its banks, and the Israeli public fled from the Left as if it were the plague. In the last elections, the Israeli Left became a secondary political force.

However, since the Right lacks vision, and has presented no real alternative to the path of the Left, the latter could continue to delude the public. Although the process of uprooting the Jewish people from its country and identity using Arafat got bogged down in a bloody swamp, the Right was mute, and in the vacuum created the Left invented a new device to achieve its objective. Instead of abandoning the country that bears our identity, using the magic password of "peace", we shall do this with the password of "security". This marked the birth of the separation fence.

It appeared that all the problems had been solved. In a brilliant unilateral move we succeeded in getting rid of those cursed territories, throwing the settlers to the wolves, and setting up both a Palestinian State there, as well as the Singapore of the Middle East on the banks of the Yarkon River here. Without Hebron and Rachel's Tomb, without Jerusalem and Shechem, without settlers, and without the need to constantly remember who we are and what we are doing here. If so, the Israelis have finally defeated the Jews.

The Left easily cleared the weak hurdle of the Right. "This isn't a security fence, but a political one," a few Likud MKs grumbled, but quickly jumped on the fence bandwagon. "If you can't beat them, join them" is an unbreakable rule on the Right.

But they haven't succeeded in clearing the hurdle of reality - of the Creator. Something very strange happened: There was in fact no real opposition from the Right, and even the Yesha Council joined in the praise of the fence, but resistance came as a complete surprise, from the rear - from the Arabs and the US. The "Israelis" didn't expect this. The Arabs are being given everything they desired, without being asked to give anything in return. This fence is in fact establishing the Palestinian State, and abandoning the settlers to their fate. It's everything that the Arabs have always demanded, and they can continue to kill Jews. So why is there opposition?

The answer is that this fence is actually establishing the Palestinian State.

Yes, this fence is actually establishing the Palestinian State, and this is the PLO?s worst nightmare. When Ehud Barak forced on them the setting up of a Palestinian State, they went to war. This is what will happen now because of the fence Israel is building, which is in fact establishing the Palestinian State. It seems that the Americans have received a hint that this is what will happen, and therefore joined the ranks of the opposition.

Arab culture is one of robbery, not of production. Islam is involved in about 98% of all the disputes currently existing in the world.

A friend of mine, an American businessman, was once squeezed by the local Mafia who wanted him to pay protection money. "They came and explained to me that from now on we were going to be partners," he told me.

"What would have happened if you had offered to give them half of your business, for their sole ownership and management, if they left you in peace?" I asked.

"They would have laughed and gently explained the rules of the game to me," he replied.

"But if you had persisted in saying that they take half the business to run for themselves?"

"They would have killed me, and then gone to rob someone else. The business would be worthless to them without me."

Now it is obvious why the Arabs talk about a state (a partnership in the business), but always raise the price when they are offered it, and go to war when they are given a state without asking them.

I wonder what the next invention will be in the war between the Israelis and the Jews.
