On Monday, February 3, the Aloh Naaleh organization, dedicated to encouraging aliya among religious seminary students, sponsored a Women Students Chagiga at the Renaissance Hotel in Jerusalem. The event attracted over 650 students, who came to hear speakers extol the virtues of making aliyah and to hear the sounds of musician and singer Chaim Dovid.

The speakers were Rabbi Shalom Gold, a well-known educator, and Mrs. Shira Smiles, a seminary instructor and scholar. Rabbi Gold told the enthused audience, ?If we want Eretz Yisrael and we love Eretz Yisrael - that's what will shake the heavens.? Afterwards, Mrs. Smiles said that making aliyah will help to bring about the Redemption and is part of the longing for Messiah that traditional sources say is expected from a believing Jew.

Ha?aretz newspaper commented on the event by observing of the attendees, ?They are high on God, Zionism and Chaim Dovid's popular tunes.?
