The speaker of the Yemeni parliament, Abdullah al-Ahmar, said last week, ?America claims to be fighting terror but is practicing it... The war it is launching is a crusader war....? In remarks published in the Saudi Arabian newspaper Okaz, and reprinted in Syria Times and elsewhere, he said that America?s war is against all Arabs and Moslems.

The anti-Arab American war, according to the Yemeni politician, will only begin with Iraq. Al-Ahmar, the head of the Islamist-tribal party al-Islah, believes that ?America will not limit its campaign to Iraq. It will be just the beginning and war will then be extended to all Arab countries.? Okaz reported: ?Ahmar warned that the future will be ?dark and bad? for all Arabs and Muslims if the United States attacked Iraq.?

In a classic example of reversal of causality, al-Ahmar claimed that the counter-terrorist war ?has created a feeling of hatred towards the United States among Arabs and Muslims...? The Yemeni party leader said, ?America is showing open hostility to all Arab and Muslim regimes and states, including the kingdom [Saudi Arabia]... American hostility... is targeting everything Islamic.?
