The area of Rachel\'s Tomb in Bethlehem was the site of a Palestinian-initiated firefight for over an hour this afternoon. The Jewish worshippers there at the time were not hurt, but their departure from the site was significantly delayed. The Committee for Kever Rachel (Rachel\'s Tomb) and the Women in Green are hoping to organize a large group to visit the site tomorrow morning, as a way of \"showing ourselves, the army, and the Arabs that we are not afraid and that we will not abandon Kever Rachel.\" Bulletproof buses leave from the Gilo intersection at 9, 10, and 11 AM. Call (02) 996-1756 for information.

Not far away from Rachel\'s Tomb, shots were fired from a passing vehicle at a Border Guard jeep southeast of Jerusalem\'s newest neighborhood, Har Homa. No one was injured, and the police returned fire at the terrorists - apparently PA policemen - who escaped towards Bethlehem.

Arab terrorists involved in placing a roadside bomb near Shavei Shomron this morning were apparently injured or killed by a premature blast. A PA ambulance evacuated the terrorists to a Shechem hospital before the IDF arrived on the scene. No Israelis were hurt.

An organization calling itself Hizbullah-Palestine claims that it is holding the Israeli-Arab journalist Yusuf Samir. Samir has been missing ever since the PA para-military police arrested him over a month ago. He was held in Bethlehem for a while, and was then set free, according to the Palestinian Authority.
