A group of female journalists from the United States spent the past week in Israel on a very unique tour. The program, called ?Women in the Footsteps of Women - in the Bible and in Israeli Culture?, is supported by the Ministry of Tourism, and has been run twice in the past. The invited journalists ?have great influence in the media and can be a force for increased tourism in their localities,? according to a Ministry press release.
The program takes the visiting ladies to various locales around the country, including the Galilee, Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, the Dead Sea and Beersheva. During their trip, emphasis is placed on the stories of Biblical women - such as a visit to Mt. Tabor, site of the prophetess? Deborah address to Israelite soldiers. In addition, the visitors get to meet with influential Israeli women involved in the arts, politics, education, tourism, the military, etc.
