According to reports in the Arabic press (www.arabicnews.com), ?A high ranking Palestinian official stated yesterday that meetings will be held between two delegations from the Fatah and Hamas movements in Cairo...? this week. According to the internet news item, ?the meetings will discuss internal and political issues, the question of national unity and resisting the Israeli occupation.? Both Hamas and PLO leader Yasser Arafat?s Fatah have carried out many terrorist attacks against Israeli civilians, including suicide bombings and machine-gun massacres.



The meeting is slated for the Egyptian capital and will be attended by senior members of the Islamist Hamas and the Fatah organization.
