Over 1,100 Jews from 15 communities in the United States are expected to visit Israel in the month of November on solidarity missions sponsored by the United Jewish Communities (UJC). The UJC says that the trips will provide a badly needed boost to the Israeli economy, providing an estimated 6,850 hotel night stays, 208 days of tour guides and 208 bus days. The first group, from the Washington, D.C. area, is scheduled to arrive this week. Others will be flying in from Birmingham, Boston, Chicago, Cleveland, Colorado, Hartford, Jacksonville, Miami, Nashville, New Jersey, New York, Ocean County, San Diego, and St. Paul.
