Researchers at an experimental agriculture center in the Negev region have managed to produce a sweeter, redder, thinner and still seedless watermelon. The melon is revolutionary in that it has been grown exclusively using saltwater. Called ?almaliach? (meaning roughly ?not salty?, but also an Israeli last name), the melon may produce more sugar during its development in order to counteract its salty water source, according to researchers.
