The Tel Aviv Performing Arts Center will be hosting a special performance of John Cranko?s ballet ?Onegin?. Guest dancers from the national Dutch ballet company will be performing in the lead roles of Tatiana and Onegin in the Israeli production. In light of the rave reviews received last year, the first time the ballet was performed in Israel, the Israel Ballet decided to perform ?Onegin? annually, each time with different guest performers. This performance also marks the Israel Ballet?s 35th year.
The Cranko ballet, choreographed in 1965, is based on a Pushkin poem and set to a Tchaikovsky score. The ballet will be performed May 29 ? June 1.
