The UJA, Bnai Brith and Betar are three of the groups that sent or will send solidarity delegations to Israel. Each delegation has the express mission of showing support for their Israeli brethren at this time of war and tension.

The UJA-Federation of New York, at the initiation of the United Jewish Communities of North America (UJC), sent 160 Jewish leaders to Israel for a five day visit this week. The visitors met with new immigrants to Israel, who arrived during the latest period of warfare. The delegation visited absorption centers in Jerusalem and elsewhere.

The Bnai Brith organization of Europe is sending a delegation of 25 members of its Executive Board to Israel next week. The delegation representatives will come from various European states, including Switzerland, Germany, the UK, Croatia, the Netherlands, Italy, France, Austria and Belgium. The mission will be led by B?nai B?rith Europe president Seymour Saideman. B?nai B?rith Europe represents members in 27 countries across the continent.

Students in the Betar youth movement take solidarity seriously and will be assisting in providing security for Jewish communities along the ?seam line? bordering Palestinian Authority areas. According to a Jewish Agency report, ?World Betar Chairman, Danny Danon, who provided this information, noted that upon arrival in Israel the students will have special training and guidance before beginning their voluntary activity.? Hundreds of students, who will be coming to Israel on solidarity missions over the summer, are expected to volunteer for the security detail.
