In recent months there were over four hundred anti-Semitic attacks against Jewish institutions, synagogues, schools and restaurants in France. To this day no one has been imprisoned. Demonstrations against the state of Israel are taking place all over Europe. Israel is accused of war crimes and Jewish soldiers are called Nazis. New versions of blood libels from out of the Dark Ages are being conjured up. The goal is to make Jewish blood cheap, to dehumanize the state of Israel and the Jewish people so that anything done against Jews is legitimate and Jewish self defense can be branded illegitimate.
Fanning the flames of this regenerated outpouring of lies, distortions, blood libels and hatred is the decision of the Security Council of the United Nations to establish an investigative committee to explore what happened in Jenin. This decision was based mainly upon the unfounded declaration of UN representative, Terje Larson, that there was a massacre. All this is going on when, in the last month, more than four hundred Israeli Jews - men, women and children - were murdered by Arab terrorists encouraged, incited and sent on their "holy" mission by the arch-terrorist, Yasser Arafat. Our Prime Minister revealed that in these last few weeks he has received many phone calls from leaders of European nations demanding to know if Arafat is comfortable in his "brutal" isolation in Ramallah. Yet not one of these leaders was interested to hear about the distress of Jewish widows and orphans and complete families that were devastated by Arab terror in the last month. Who is responsible for all this immoral hatred, distortion of truth, this abominable dual standard of justice and human sensitivity directed against Israel and the Jewish people?
I accuse arch-terrorist, Arafat, and his terror gangs, of being responsible for the mass murder of men, women and children of Israel, which has been going on now for decades. He has created a "culture" of hatred and incitement toward the killing of Jews in an attempt to de-legitimize the independence of Israel and its inalienable Biblical and historic right to the Land of Israel. This is being propagated by an industry of distortion, lies, twisting of facts and reshaping historical truths and events. This "culture" has succeeded in brainwashing young Arab men and women to become living suicide bombs, whose only goal is to murder Jewish civilians in order to achieve eternal life in Islamic heaven. Money donated by international sources to give humanitarian aid to indigent Arab families has been diverted both to Arafat's personal bank accounts and to purchase tools of destruction and incentives for more young suicide bombers to provide for their families as a reward for their heinous deeds.
I accuse the leaders of Arab countries in the Middle East such as Egypt, Syria, Saudi Arabia and others of supporting and encouraging the poisonous terror of Arafat. They have lent legitimacy to the goal of uprooting the Jewish State and annihilating the Jewish people. I accuse these Arab leaders of cruelty to the Arab "refugees". They are the ones who drove them out of Israel in 1948, assuring them that they would come back as victors. For more than fifty years, they have been kept in refugee camps, under the worst living conditions, rather than be rehabilitated. They have callously used their own people as pawns to serve as a media tool whereby CNN and others can effectively present a falsified picture blaming Israel for Arab suffering.
I accuse the European Union of falsely portraying Arafat as a just, moral and devoted leader of his people, struggling for equal rights and democracy, thus giving legitimacy to the cruelty of Arab terror. I accuse these leaders of having resurrected among their own people the beastly demon of anti Semitism and blood libels, which have appeared recently in demonstrations in the towns and cities of Europe, reminding us of the tragic result of such hatred only sixty years ago.
I accuse the Pope of Rome of supporting Arafat and giving legitimacy to the newly revived hatred of Jews and the efforts to prevent the complete renaissance of the Jewish people, its Land of Israel and its Divine capital in Jerusalem. How strange this phenomenon of the Christian leader becoming an ally of the Moslem terrorist, Arafat, despite the fact that he has terrorized Christians in Bethlehem, Ramallah and Hebron. Perhaps, when the opportunity arises to slander Jews, then Christian forgiveness is willing to overlook the fact that Moslem terrorists have also persecuted Christians.
I accuse the United Nations organization, which is only united against Jews and the State of Israel, of supporting the terror of Arafat. I accuse them of double standards of justice, relating differently to the State of Israel and its Jews, then to other nations. This expresses itself especially in the matter of denying the State of Israel the right of self defense and never condemning terrorist attacks against Jews, always uniting its members in condemning Jews while they are defending themselves against their terrorist enemies. This unity of evil and artistic deception, controlled by the Moslem nations of Asia and Africa, unfortunately, is always supported by the sophisticated nations of Europe. Together, they have aligned themselves to creating an international illusion of morality and truth, which, in reality, is an abomination of hypocrisy. The visionaries who created the United Nations for the purpose of unity, truth and justice in the international arena are turning over in their graves at the twisted abuse of their creation.
I accuse our close ally and friend, the United States of America, of not having the consistent courage and power of decision to fight and destroy this Arafatist terror, which is aligned with the powers of terror of Iraq, Iran and Afghanistan and threatens the entire free world. How strange it is that this great world power is seeking to pacify Arafat in order to be free to fight the terror of Iraq. Isn't it clear that when confronting a cancer, which must be destroyed, all its tentacles must be attacked and uprooted in order that the ideal of complete health be made possible again?
Now the nations of the world, in order to clear their conscience of responsibility for the terror in the Middle East, have established a committee to investigate the horrors of destruction in Jenin, with the intention of accusing Israel of war crimes. Considering that the United States, acting like any normal army during its campaign against the Taliban in Afghanistan, bombed terrorist targets, preferring to risk civilian casualties rather than endanger its soldiers in ground attacks, isn't it absurd and hypocritical to suggest that an army that deliberately endangered its own soldiers by refraining from aerial bombing, in order to avoid civilian casualties, should be accused of committing a massacre? The Arabs who were killed were deliberately sacrificed by the terrorists, who used them as human shields and human bombs. Every house in Jenin was booby-trapped with bombs by the terrorists, in spite of the fact that they housed civilians. How could the United States of America support the establishment of this committee, knowing that it caused proportionally more civilian deaths in its own war in Afghanistan?
With all due respect and responsibility, I must admonish the United States and the nations of the free world, to be careful not to bring us back to the dark horrible days of the Nazi period. Today, just as then, appeasement and efforts to compromise with the wild beast threatening the existence and values of the free and democratic world can only bring tragic consequences. The time has come to courageously call a spade a spade, by relating to terror as such and acting resolutely to remove this cancer and its tentacles from our midst. No compromising, no negotiations, only complete obliteration of terror. Anything less than that will bring back to life that Nazi beast, already beginning to raise its ugly head in the demonstrations in Europe and with the anti Semitic attacks in France. I turn to our dear ally, the United States of America and ask, ?Why are you wavering in your support of Israel in its war against the terror of Arafat, which threatens its existence? Rise up and lead the world again in this struggle for human existence and morals.?
Now I must turn to my own people and its leaders. We, too, cannot shirk the responsibility of ensuring the security of Israel and the safe existence of Jewish people. We cannot lend a hand to those powers of evil and deception seeking to uproot us from the Land G-d Promised to our father, Abraham. The Land of Israel has been brought back to fruitful life by the devotion and sacrifice of our people. The ancient Jewish culture and Divine values have become a reality in Jewish life in Israel. Let us state clearly, "The hills of Judea and Samaria are not occupied territories." They are the heart of our homeland. In their soil lie the roots of Jewish prophesy. Jerusalem projects the Divine light of the Holy of Holies for the Jewish people and is destined to be the source of sanctity for all the world. We will not and cannot deny our responsibility to the Truth of Jewish life, no matter how difficult it may be to implement this truth. Our lives are on the line in every sense of the word. We have long passed the point of no return in this process of redemption. The direction can only be forward.
We have been immensely encouraged and strengthened by the demonstrations of thousands of Jews, the world over, supporting Israel. The more than hundred thousand Jews who demonstrated in Washington warmed our hearts. Allow me to turn to our beloved brothers and say to you clearly and strongly, "The greatest demonstration of Jewish unity, the secret weapon ensuring Jewish existence and strength in Israel is aliyah." Believe me, we need you and you need us. The G-d of Israel needs us all here in Jerusalem, Hebron, Tel Aviv and Haifa. Once again, the nations of the world are closing their eyes to Jew hatred, but, thank G-d, the situation is different now. This time the Living G-d of Israel has returned us to our homeland and helped us to establish Jewish independence. We have our own army. We are no longer dependent upon the mercy of others. This unique Divine combination of the People of Israel united in faith in its ancestral land can never be shaken. The eternity of Israel will not be denied.
I call upon all of our fellow Jews still in the Exile. The time has come for decision making. It is the ultimate time to take the brave step of faith and join us in Israel. Be part of this Divine combination.
