Mr. Geraldo Rivera,

According to statements that appeared in the Israeli media, during one of your recent broadcasts for Fox News, you stated that “My whole life I have been a Zionist… But after seeing the suffering of the Palestinian people up close, I have also become a Palestinianist.”

As a “Palestinianist”, Mr. Rivera, perhaps you were approached by student pollsters from an-Najah University this weekend. Perhaps you, like 87.4% of your fellow “Palestinians”, expressed to those pollsters support for continued suicide bombings and machinegun massacres of Israelis. Perhaps you, too, were among those 72.4% of “Palestinians” who objected to limiting such “martyrdom operations” to Judea, Samaria and Gaza. Were those the “Palestinian people” whose suffering touched you enough to make you want to “become” one of them?

Maybe it was Mariam Farhat, Mr. Rivera, who touched you deeply and made you a “Palestinianist”. That must have been it, for she appeared on your very own Fox News with her son, prior to his massacre of five Jewish civilians in Gaza, saying of him, “I wish I had 100 sons like Muhammad, so as I will sacrifice all of them for the sake of Allah.”

Is it the suffering “Palestinian people” who burst out in spontaneous cheering when it was announced at a rally that a suicide bomber had struck in Jerusalem? Was it those cheers, by thousands of Arabs, over the murder of children, entire Jewish families, that clarified for you where your sympathies lie? We know that your sympathy for the “Palestinians” couldn’t have been engendered by the same type of cheering and celebration that broke out when the news of the September 11th attacks hit the Arab street. Could it?

On the other hand, maybe as a former sensationalist television personality, you identify more strongly with the Palestinian Authority television broadcasts that call upon children to martyr themselves in confrontation with Israeli soldiers. That same PA TV regularly broadcasts calls for Arabs to kill Jews, “wherever you may find them.” Not only that, but, in your new role as a hard news correspondent, you were no doubt intrigued by the report in a PA newspaper that IDF soldiers sent rabid dogs to attack Arab children in the Bethlehem area.

Mr. Rivera, you stated that you support the creation of a Palestinian state. Did you perhaps adopt the mainstream Fatah position, as outlined on the occasion of the anniversary of that organization’s founding? The Fatah anniversary communiqu? stated that “a legitimate Palestinian entity forms the most important weapon that Arabs have against Israel, the outpost of the imperialist powers.” Fatah, in case you forgot, is the organization headed by your esteemed Nobel Prize winning leader, Yasser Arafat.

As a “Palestinianist”, Mr. Rivera, are you prepared to take up “the struggle with world Jewry…”? You see, that is what is expected of you, if you watch the Palestinian television broadcasts on a regular basis. One thing is likely, Mr. Rivera, you will no longer be considered part of the Jewish conspiracy to control the world’s media, as portrayed in a PA cartoon by the Nazi image of a hook-nosed Jew in Hasidic garb painting over TV screens with black paint.

Mr. Rivera, for many Jews around the world you have forfeited your right to call yourself a Zionist, to say the least. However, it is not only your Zionism that you have brought into question, but your understanding of the story you cover. It has turned out that your coverage is as empty of content as was Al Capone’s vault.

The only entity since Nazi Germany that has consistently declared, through its media and by its actions, that it actively seeks the murder of Jews – men, women, children, babies – is the Palestinian Authority and its Islamist satellites.

Is that what you meant when you said that you have “become a Palestinianist”?

Jews around the world await your answer, Geraldo.
