Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates and Nir Gilead, Finance Ministry Comptroller General, recently met in France for the signing of an agreement between Microsoft and the government of the State of Israel. The agreement is part of the ?Accessible Government? project designed to improve and streamline contacts between Israeli citizens and their government, including the development of new on-line government services.
According to the agreement, Microsoft will assist the government in meeting out the goals of the ?Accessible Government? project. Part of that assistance includes the providing of software licenses on a large scale. The licenses will be used in further development of government ministries and in the establishment of community computer centers.
