Four hundred people attended an evening of solidarity with the Jews of Argentina this month. In addition to demonstrating solidarity with brethren in distress, the gathering was intended to send a message to Argentinean Jews to ?come and be part of the State of Israel.? Also recognized during the evening were the new and veteran olim (immigrants) from Argentina, their contributions and absorption into Israeli society.
The evening of solidarity, organized by the Jewish Agency?s southern region office, was attended by Be?ersheva mayor Yaakov Turner, Jewish Agency representatives, Be?ersheva residents, new and veteran olim from Argentina and IDF soldiers. The evening?s program included entertainment by Shlomo Yidov, performing a show called ?Dreaming in Spanish?, and performances by Trio Indio and a local youth choir.
