An article in the Saudi-affiliated, London-based newspaper, a-Sharq al-Awsat, is entitled, ?We Are All the Voice of Palestine.? Stating that ?[t]hough Israel has managed to destroy the structure that housed the Voice of Palestine radio station,? the article declares that ?it has failed to destroy our faith in our just cause.? The IDF actions against the Voice of Palestine offices over the past weeks, which destroyed the offices and transmitter, will be unsuccessful, the article claims, and ?the Voice of Palestine will not cease and will continue to be heard by the world.?

The Palestinian Authority radio and television indeed continued to broadcast, albeit from a different location, but the a-Sharq al-Awsat editorial has a more esoteric idea in mind: ?Eight million Palestinians in addition to 250 million Arabs and one billion Muslims are the Voice of Palestine.? That idea must be understood by the ?Israelis as well as Israel?s weapons supplier and peacebroker, the United States of America?? In fact, writes the author, ?I feel sorry for those who believe that the bombing of the Voice of Palestine radio station is the end of the struggle.? Israel, the article claims, destroyed the radio station because it ?is dedicated to silencing any voice that may attract the world?s attention. Israel doesn?t want the world to know about its violations of international laws and treaties? supported by the peacebroker, the United States.? In the view of the Arab world, then, ?the peacebroker itself is the voice of Israel,? the editorial declares.

The Saudi columnist states that the ?occupation will end? and that he ?support[s] the idea that whatever is taken by force will return only by force? the revolution has never ceased and will never cease. Blood draws blood, period.? Yet, tha a-Sharq al-Awsat column lays the blame for Israel acting to ?violate our dignity and sanctuaries? at the feet of the Arab world as well as at the feet of the Western powers. ?[W]e allowed,? the editorial said, ?the Israelis to cross the red lines, to ignore the just cause of the Palestinians and further gave them the green light? Israel?s ignoring of the international community, the resolutions of the Security Council and the United Nations, the massacres of Deir Yassin, Sabra and Shatila and Qana were due to our passive behavior.? The Arab world also allowed Israel ?to present itself to the world as a peacemaker,? the article states, ??when the Nobel Prize was granted to an Israeli criminal.? It is not clear if the author is referring to the late Prime Minister Yitzchak Rabin or to Foreign Minister Shimon Peres, who is blamed by the Arab press for a ?massacre? at Qana in Lebanon. ?Even those countries that stood with the Palestinian cause,? laments the a-Sharq al-Awsat editorial, ?have ceased bothering to condemn Israel?s atrocities.?

Therefore, the a-Sharq al-Awsat columnist writes, ?It is imperative that the Arab media and TV stations allocate a number of hours daily to the Voice of Palestine.? As for Arab leaders, the article calls on them ?more than ever before, to completely boycott Israel until all of Palestine and Jerusalem is free? and, if possible, boycott everything American.?
