Israeli Swimmers Vered Borochovski, Yoav Gat and Eitan Urbach won four medals in the World Cup Swimming Finals in Paris this past week.



Vered Borochovski won the silver medal in the women?s 50-meter butterfly final and set a new Israeli record of 26.93 seconds. She came in second to the Slovakian swimmer Martina Morvochova, who came in with a time of 26.55 seconds. Borochovski won her second medal, a bronze, in the women?s 100-meter butterfly with a time of 59.54. Last week Borochovski also won two medals at the FINA competition in Italy.



Yoav Gat won the silver medal in the men?s 200-meter backstroke, with a time of 1:54.94. He was beaten for the gold by Korean swimmer Min Soong, with a time of 1:54:65. Gat also set an Israeli record of 56.82 seconds in the 100-meter individual freestyle, but came in fifth.



Eitan Urbach also set an Israeli record at the Paris meet, when he won the bronze medal in the 100-meter backstroke with a time of 53.24 seconds.
