A group of investors, including actor Paul Newman, will be facilitating the construction of a recreation village in the Galilee for children suffering from cancer. ?The Jordan River Camp? is a $17 million project sprawling across 245 dunams of land, allocated by the Israel Lands Authority, in the Lavi forest, near the Kinneret collective settlement. The camp will provide the children, their parents, siblings and caregivers with sports facilities, a swimming pool, paths for horse-riding, a convention center and other facilities, so that they will all be able to take a vacation together. In addition, the camp will open its doors to Arab children from neighboring states who are suffering from cancer. Thus far, $3 million of the needed monies have been raised, both domestically and abroad.
