The official Syrian news agency, SANA, reported on the meeting between the political advisor to Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, Osama Al-Baz, and Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. According to the Syrian news agency, al-Baz ?highly lauded Sunday his meeting with President Bashar Assad? and considers al-Assad a leader with ?deep vision and good reading of the Arab Nation?s future.?
Al-Baz said that, as a result of his meeting, he has ?become more confident of the necessity as to work in deepening cooperation and solidarity. We are in one trench with Syria in encountering all challenges?? and to ?protect the Arab nation?s interests.? SANA reported that al-Baz emphasized one Arab interest in particular, that is, ?the urgent need for ending the Israeli occupation and for salvaging the Palestinians from the Israeli perpetrated organized terrorism.?
