The Knesset is set to honor the charitable, volunteer organization, Yad Sarah, with a special extraordinary session on December 3, 2001. Yad Sarah will be honored for outstanding and widespread volunteer activity on behalf of those in need of medical equipment and services that the government can not or does not provide. The 25 year old organization serves all sectors of Israeli society and, according to a Yad Sarah press release, ?every other Israeli uses Yad Sarah's services, among them many victims of terror??



Yad Sarah, best known for lending out medical equipment free of charge, is also known for its initiatives, including in the fields of geriatric care, assistance for children with special needs and the use of specialized equipment for those suffering from almost complete immobility. The organization has added some 18 services since its inception.
