In a deal worth more than $4 million, Ofgal, a subsidiary of Elbit Systems, in conjunction with RAFAEL (the Israeli weapons development authority), will provide the Canadian military with thermal weapons sights. The Hurricane weapon sighting system, combining day and night-time sights and based on a thermal non-cooled imaging system, was unveiled last week at a technological exhibition in Tel Aviv. The system is widely regarded as the most effective and cheapest non-cooled system available. Furthermore, the project is expected to generate $5 million worth of future orders.

The Cyprus Finance Ministry will purchase the company software, designed to process census forms that are filled out by hand, for approximately one million dollars. Image has already provided such census software and services for the states of South Africa, Kenya, Brazil and Turkey.
