Tens of thousands of people gathered last night in Tel Aviv's Rabin Square at a concert/rally to commemorate the seventh anniversary of the late Prime Minister Yitzchak Rabin's assassination. Musicians performed, speakers spoke, and huge television screens presented messages from three of Rabin's friends - former U.S. President Clinton, Egyptian President Mubarak and King Abdullah of Jordan. Ha'aretz ran seemingly contradictory accounts of the rally, calling it "emotional and full of symbolism" in one article, and writing, "There was no excitement in the large crowd..." and that the rally featured "general monotony" in an account by Daniel Ben-Simon. The rally was held under the banner, "Remembering Together - Believing in Peace."
