The Jewish Agency is delivering twenty armored vehicles for the use of children in Jewish towns under threat of Arab gunfire. The funds for the vehicles came from donations made by Jewish communities in the US, Jewish philanthropists and the Jewish-Christian Friendship Fund. The Center of Regional Councils will deliver the vehicles to communities, as determined by the Israel Defense Forces.

In addition, the Jewish Agency has been extending special assistance to Jewish communities bordering areas controlled by the Palestinian Authority, the Lachish district in southern Israel and the Gilboa region in eastern Israel. Part of the assistance included funding for commercial and agricultural enterprises suffering because of the Arab terrorist war, for local councils to help them organize summer and cultural activities. Non-financial assistance included the organization of trips throughout Israel and enrichment programs for day camps, as well as a major poolside concert in the Negev town of Sderot.
