The Variety Club of Jerusalem and the Ministries of Education and Transportation subsidized a unique day camp this summer. It was expressly for children from the embattled Gilo neighborhood of Jerusalem. The camp was run in conjunction with the Gilo Neighborhood Administration and the Jerusalem Municipality.
Approximately 100 children, aged 4-12, enjoyed computers, crafts, music, traffic safety, animals and swimming pool activities. The camp was subsidized, charging NIS 500 for three weeks, and only NIS 200 for disadvantaged children.
