The Saudi Arabian Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Ghazi Al-Quseibi, has expressed his opinion that the Arab states need not fear a war with Israel. In an article published in the London-based Al-Hayat newspaper, the Ambassador questions the apparent moderate Arab consensus that war with Israel would be irresponsible adventurism. According to the Al-Quseibi, the Egyptian leadership is seriously considering the possibility of war and has gone so far as to search out international support for the Arabs should war, in fact, break out.

Al-Quseibi points out what he sees as Israel?s inability to absorb many losses and to address more than one military front at once. He believes that these weaknesses could be efficiently exploited by a combination of a joint Egyptian-Syrian assault, PLO guerrilla warfare, Israeli Arab irredentist terrorism, external Arab military support along with financial support from the Gulf. Israel would not be able to with stand the united Arab world, the Ambassador believes, and he finds proof of this in the success of the current PLO-directed terror war in ?tiring them out more than the previous Arab wars??
