Yoav Gat, the Israeli swimmer, succeeded in qualifying for the finals in the World Swimming Competition in Japan last week. While setting an Israeli record of 1:59:39, Gat qualified for the finals in the 200 meter backstroke. The head of the Israeli delegation to the competition said that ?Yoav attained an incredible result. He swam very well.?



Yoav Gat won the bronze medal at the European Swimming Championships in July 2000 and was part of the Israeli delegation to the 2000 Olympics in Sydney.
