According to the Fortnightly, a review of Israeli and regional business, developments and news, a new cooperative approach with foreign defense industries has been adopted by Israel Aircraft Industries (IAI) and the Israeli Ministry of Defense. One of the larger beneficiaries of this new approach is the Indian Ministry of Defense. On July 16, IAI signed a cooperation agreement with the Indian Ministry and will begin supplying Israeli weapon systems and technologies to India. The financial potential of the agreement, according to the Fortnightly, is estimated at two billion dollars. IAI may assist in upgrading the Indian Air Force planes, including hundreds of MiG-21, MiG-29 and Sukhoi fighters.
