The Hamas-oriented Palestine Times printed an article this month entitled "Racist Zionists warn of Arab Population Growth." Writing from "Occupied Jerusalem," the news service reports that "Racist Zionists in the apartheid Israeli regime continued to warn against Arab demographic growth in Palestine, calling on the Israeli government and army to seriously take the 'looming danger' into account." The Times quotes University of Haifa Professor Arnon Sofer, author of a new study on the matter, as saying that Israel is at a demographic crossroads. "According to the racist professor," concludes the piece, "there are today five million Jews and five million non-Jews in Palestine....Soffer predicted that by the year 2020, there will be around 6.4 million Jews ...As to the Arab growth, Soffer said he expected the Arab population to reach 8.5 million."
