Iran?s official IRNA news agency "cashed in" in on the accidental killing of three Bedouin women in an IDF shelling of terrorist targets in Khan Yunis. In a carefully-worded article, the paper writes, "The Zionist regime on Wednesday admitted its occupation troops murdered three Bedouin women in Khan Younis south of Gaza five days ago, claiming the killing was 'a mistake.'" Labeling Defense Minister Binyamin Ben Eliezer as Israel's "War Minister" - the paper continued its policy of portraying Israel as the aggressor against a defenseless Palestinian public. "The incident," IRNA writes, "is added to scores of cold-blooded murders perpetrated by nervous and trigger-happy Israeli occupation soldiers unworried about any accountability for their actions."
However, records of the past nine months show that the vast majority of Palestinians killed by IDF troops have either been wanted Hamas, Islamic Jihad or Fatah terrorists, or have been shot in the midst of violent Arab-initiated riots featuring rock-throwing teenagers covered by machine-gun firing Arab gunmen. "The IDF actions are far from the kind of cold-blooded murders perpetrated by Arab terrorists," Arutz Sheva's Ron Meir observed. "Take this week's murder of Col. Yehuda Edri, for instance, or the rock-throwing murder of the infant Chaim Yehuda Shoham, or the death by sniper fire of Shalhevet Pass in Hevron several months ago. Drive-by executions are a prevalent tactic of Arafat's Fatah killers; such attacks claimed the lives of Gilad Za'ar, Sarah Blaustein, Idit Mizrachi and dozens of others. IRNA seems bent on distracting the world from the facts on the ground - namely, that Yasser Arafat continues to fight a bloody mini-war against Israel that he initiated after he consciously turned down Ehud Barak's generous Camp David concessions last summer."
