Saudi Crown Prince Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, in Syria this week, said that Israel had "crossed the limits" in its crackdown on the PLO and accused the United States and Europe of bias towards Israel. According to the Khaleej Times, the Crown Prince said: "Israel must adopt a reasonable attitude ... as it has crossed the limits in the violence by firing bullets at the elderly, women and babies." Arutz-7's Ron Meir notes that the Prince seems to have ignored the fact that Israel, in its attacks, has targeted terrorist bases, while the Fatah and Tanzim terrorists have been, for months now, executing drive-by shootings against Israeli civilians.

The Times reported that the Prince then turned his attention to Ariel Sharon, warning: "Each drop of Arab blood will cost dearly. Arabs and Muslims want their full rights. Violence begets violence..." The Prince was particularly critical of international efforts to squelch the PLO mini-war on Israel. Seemingly forgetting Ehud Barak's offer of 97% of Judea and Samaria (and half of Jerusalem to Yasser Arafat at Camp David) the Crown Prince asserted: "Those who call for a stop to the Palestinian unrest forget that this violence is the result of Israeli - the occupation and colonization." He has also decided not to add the United States, a close ally of Saudi Arabia, to the tour. According to the Times, "Diplomats in the Saudi capital said the crown prince was making a protest against Washington's support for Israel."
