Following last Friday's Arab suicide bombing in which 20 people were brutally murdered, Arab MK Mohammad Barake told the French news agency that the suicide terrorist had entered Israel from Jordan on an Israeli visa and had no ties with the Palestinian National Authority." So reports the Jordan Times. The source of Barake's information? None other than "Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat, whom he and fellow Arab Israeli MK Issam Mahlul met Wednesday afternoon in the West Bank town of Ramallah." Running interference for Arafat, Barake was determined to challenge Israel's assessment that Arafat was responsible for the attack. According to the Times, Barake asserted: ?The Palestinian leader also reaffirmed his commitment to respect, in the autonomous territories under his control, the cease fire he declared Saturday night.?
