Tishrin, the official newspaper of Israel's neighbor to the north, unleashed its wrath on Israel this week. In a piece entitled "The Chosen People of God," journalist R. Zein offers a review of a newly-released Arab-authored book discussing the "true nature of the ancient Israelis." According to Zein, the book is entitled "Are They God's Chosen People or Killers, Villains and Thieves?" In his book, recently published by Bisan House in Beirut, writer Abdul Munem al-Hasskeer reportedly offers "documented references about the true nature of the ancient Israelis - who were not only killers of ordinary people but murderers of prophets and messengers." In a refreshing re-telling of history, Al-Hasskeer, according to Zein, notes that "the Israelis had nothing to do whatsoever with the 'chosen people'. [In fact] they killed prophets who were the successive offspring of Abel, Seth, Noah, Abraham, David, Solomon and Moses... The stories of these prophets as told by the genuine heavenly books are different from those told by the Talmud and the Torah which were distorted by the Jewish rabbis and other Zionist spiritual leaders to achieving racist ends, the writer said. He pointed out that the 'sons of snakes' as named by Jesus, the 'scorpions' as called by Ezekiel and the 'hatch [sic] of the snakes 'eggs' as named by Isaiah were corrupt and vicious Israelis never attributed [sic] to the Lord's people and were the only wicked offspring of Cain, the killer of his brother Abel, the first crime in history committed against humanity."
According to Zein, the book then "goes, in several chapters, through documented stories about the crimes of the Jewish Israelis committed against Jesus Christ, John the Baptist, the prophet Mohammad and about the Christians (the owner of the furrow) who were burnt by Jew 'Yousef Zu Nawwas.' " Modern Zionist history, through the eyes of al-Hasskeer, round out the book.
In closing, Zein observes that "the outstanding book is a new document testifying to the racist, terrorist and aggressive nature of Israel whose successive leaders have been launching acts of genocide and destruction against the Arabs in general and the Palestinian people in particular, and whose blood-thirsty leadership is now represented by the well-known butcher Ariel Sharon, the architect of Israel's 1982 barbaric invasion of Lebanon and the perpetrator of the ill-famed [sic] Sabra and Shatilla massacre."
