For ages, the Jew has found in the siddur (Jewish prayer book) a source of inspiration, comfort and consolation. Yet fully appreciating prayer is fraught with obstacles of language, philosophical problems and inability to muster proper kavana (intent). It is against this backdrop that the faculty of Jerusalem's Darche Noam Institutions will join renowned guest speakers for the institution's 6th annual three-day "Yarche Kallah." The program - which will set its sights on fully probing the power of prayer - will feature workshops as well as "chavruta" learning prior to shiurim.

The program runs from Monday, July 23rd to Wednesday, July 25, in the comfortable Darche Noam yeshiva in Jerusalem's stately Beit Hakerem neighborhood. The program, including three days of study, lunch daily, and the closing evening panel discussion and reception is $100 or $90 for alumni of Shapell's and Midreshet Rachel. Childcare is available at $15 per child per day, including lunch. Guest lecturers include renowned speakers and authors Rabbis David Aaron, Natan Lopez-Cardozo, Mendel Gluckowsky, Sholom Gold, Avraham Greenbaum, Leib Kelemen, Zev Leff, Hanoch Teller, Berel Wein and Mrs. Menucha Chwat.

For over 20 years, the David Shapell College of Jewish Studies and Midreshet Rachel College of Jewish Studies for Women have been dedicated to providing a sophisticated and balanced approach to Torah Judaism for university graduates and professionals. Darche Noam's unique approach focuses on the development of textual skills combined with personal growth. Students are encouraged to explore different approaches in Torah Judaism, as taught by the institutions' diverse staff. Emphasizing a love of Israel, Darche Noam instills in its graduates an appreciation of their uniqueness as individuals and responsibility as Jews.
