Iran's official IRNA news agency took this week's sniper murder attack on 10 month-old Shalhevet Pass - and used it as a tool for pro-PLO propaganda, turning the town's Jewish residents into aggressors, and Arab terrorists into victims. "Jewish mobs on Tuesday went on the rampage throughout the Old Town of al-Khalil [Hevron - ed.] following the accidental death of a Jewish toddler during exchange of fire between Israeli troops and Palestinian fighters on Monday," IRNA reported. Arutz-7's Ron Meir notes that the baby was not killed in an exchange of fire between IDF and PLO forces, but in a lone shooting incident by an Arab sniper. Security experts have noted that the highly-specialized telescopic rifle used to murder the baby was clearly deliberately aimed at her. "It is true that Hevron's Jewish residents tore down signs at abandoned market stalls and vandalized the Waqf offices there, but the IRNA story fails to explain that this was a response not only to the calculated murder of a baby, but to six months of ongoing rifle and machine gun fire from PLO-backed terrorists situated in the Abu-Sneinah hills overlooking the Jewish community," Meir explained.

Speaking with Arutz-7 the night of the murder of baby Pass, Hevron mayor Mustafa Natche refused to commit himself to clamp down on Arab terrorists under his jurisdiction, and blamed the events of the evening on "the settlers."
