(Updated Sunday 9:30 AM) IDF soldiers carrying out routine inspections on cars at the Tapuach junction in the Shomron yesterday afternoon uncovered a explosives belt hidden among boxes of pants in an Arab driven vehicle. The two men in the car were taken into custody. The belt contained eight kilograms of explosives laden with steel nails. Several hours later a would-be suicide bomber and his dispatcher were arrested in the Shechem district. Officials believe that there may be a link between the two terrorists and the men arrested at Tapuach.

Troops continue to operate in the terrorist-infested Shomron town of Jenin. Last night demolition crews destroyed two homes belonging to Arabs with blood on their hands. One of the houses belonged to a Hamas gunmen responsible for a Jordan valley shooting attack this past March that resulted in the death of an IDF soldier. The second house demolished belonged to the Islamic Jihad suicide bomber who detonated his explosives in the Binyamina train station in July 2001, killing two Israelis.
