An Arab terrorist disguised as an innocent olive picker shot and lightly wounded an IDF soldier near the Beit El Military Court this afternoon - and an officer stormed the terrorist's position and killed him. The incident occurred only a few hundred meters from the Beit El military base and the entrance to Beit El. The "olive picker" stood in an olive grove overlooking the road and shot at the army jeep, hitting the driver in the arm. The passenger jumped out, ran towards the terrorist, and shot and killed him.

Several shooting incidents have occurred on this section of the road, none of which, miraculously, ended with casualties. Beit El residents have often demanded that the army station a permanent guard in the area; a petition to this effect has been posted in local synagogues for the past week.
