(Updated Wednesday 9:15AM) The first of three victims from last night's terror attack inside the northern Shomron community of Chermesh has been identified as Limor Saroussi, 14. The murderous rampage began at about 10:30PM when a lone Arab gunman managed to sneak under the community's perimeter fence and opened fire at Saroussi and another young girl killing them both as they sat outside.

The terrorist then entered a home and opened fire killing an Israeli woman and moderately wounding her husband. When the Arab emerged from the home he was shot dead by soldiers, but not before he managed to lightly wound one of the troops. Officials say that in addition to Kalashnikov assault rifle used by the Arab in the attack, he was wearing an explosives belt, and hoped to detonate his device to cause more deaths.

The Yesha (Judea, Samaria, and Gaza) Council released a statement this morning accusing Defense Minister Bin-Eliezer of failing to live up to his responsibility of protecting Yesha communities. The Council says that after 10 fatal infiltrations into Yesha communities the Defense Minister must take immediate steps to improve the security situation.
