Yael Orbach, the mother of Yamina MK Nir Orbach, passed away on Shabbat. That same day, Zelda Armen, MK Orbach's moth-in-law, also passed away.

Zelda was with her extended family during the Passover holiday in the Sinai Peninsula, did not feel well and was transferred to Yoseftal Hospital in Eilat, where she died.

MK Orbach and his wife Meirav lost their mothers just hours apart, and their children lost both of their grandmothers on the same day.

The funerals have been scheduled in a manner that will allow the families to attend both. Yael will be laid to rest at 3 PM today in the Tel Regev cemetery near Haifa. MK Orbach will sit shiva at his mother's residence in Kiryat Shmuel through Wednesday. On Thursday and Friday he will sit shiva together with his wife at their family home in Petah Tikva.

Prime Minister Naftali Bennett paid tribute to Yael Orbach: "Baruch Dayan Ha'emet (Blessed be the true judge). I share in the grief over the passing of Yael Orbach, the mother of my dear friend, MK Nir Orbach. Yael was a woman of grace and truth. She made sure to volunteer at MDA every Friday. She would accompany people or prepare food, whatever was needed. I share your grief and embrace you and your wonderful family during this difficult time."

Religious Zionism party chairman MK Bezalel Smotrich said: "Baruch Dayan Ha'emet. We sadly received the news of the passing of the late Yael Orbach, the mother of MK Nir Orbach. We share in the grief of Nir and the grief of the family. You should know no more sorrow "

Interior Minister Ayelet Shaked tweeted: "I send heartfelt condolences to MK Nir Orbach and his family on the death of his late mother Yael. You should know no more sorrow and from heaven you will be comforted."
