(Updated Tuesday 9:15 AM) Two more victims of yesterday’s deadly suicide bus bombing have been identified: Ofrah Berger, 56, from Hod HaSharon, and Iris Lavie, 68, of Netanya. The first two were IDF Sergeant Nir Nachum, 20, from Carmiel and Border Policeman First Sergeant Iman Sarouf, 20, from Usafiyya. Both young men will be laid to rest later today. 22 victims from yesterday’s attack remain hospitalized, including a two-year-old who is in serious condition. Two others are listed as serious while the remainder are in light to moderate condition.
Following yesterday’s attack Defense Minister Binyamin Ben-Eliezer convened a meeting with the heads of Israel’s security forces. The leaders agreed to tighten curfews around PLO-controlled towns in response to the bombing. However, Arutz 7 radio reported this morning that despite yesterday's attack, the IDF still plans to withdraw its forces from Hevron later on this week as scheduled.
Israel also says that it will carry out a pinpoint response to yesterday’s attack at the right time and place. Officials say that despite media reports to the contrary, the United States is not pressuring Israel to avoid taking action against those responsible.
