Leaders of the nationalist parties met in the Knesset today to discuss the government decision to withdraw the IDF forces from most of Hevron. The leaders signed a joint request to Prime Minister Sharon last week not to pull back the forces, but he ignored them. The forces were to have been redeployed today, but the decision has been put off until Wednesday or Thursday. "Cities of Israel" called a demonstration outside the Herzliya home of MK Ze'ev Boim last night, protesting his failure as head of the Likud Knesset faction to "unite the nationalist and right-wing camp around all the nationalist issues."
IDF troops last night shot and killed two armed Palestinian terrorists who were making their way towards the Gush Katif community of Kfar Darom. It is assumed that the gunmen were on their way to infiltrate Kfar Darom and murder as many residents as possible. Arabs also launched a mortar shell at a Jewish community in northern Gaza last night, causing no injuries. In the PA city of Shechem, Arabs shot and detonated bombs near troops.
