(Updated Monday 10:30 AM) Yesterday evening Israeli youth returned to the demolished Gilad Farm outpost near Kedumim and set up sleeping tents where they spent the night. They also erected a makeshift synagogue. Early this morning IDF forces sealed the roads leading to the farm to prevent others from reaching the site to aid in rebuilding efforts.

The Gilad Farm backlash continues today as Prime Minister Ariel Sharon is set to meet with angry Labor Ministers. Labor is upset because they claim the government didn’t support the Defense Ministry’s efforts to evacuate the outpost. In addition, Labor is demanding that Sharon dismiss National Infrastructure Minister Effie Eitam. for calling Labor party head and Defense Minister Ben-Eliezer a “fool, liar, and coward” for dismantling Gilad. Eitam made his comments on Israel Radio yesterday morning, but later apologized. Eitam’s National Religious Party (NRP) is considering pulling out of the government since troops were bused to Gilad on Shabbat to prepare for the dismantlement operation.
