Two mortar shells were fired on the western-Negev Kibbutz of Kfar Aza, five kilometers southwest of Sderot today. No one was hurt. In retaliation, an IDF tank shot four shells at the source of the fire and destroyed a PA para-military police post.

Moslems at prayer on the Temple Mount threw rocks at Israeli targets this afternoon. Although on previous similar occasions the police evacuated Jewish worshippers from the Western Wall plaza below, today it was the Moslem attackers who were expelled from the Temple Mount compound. The Israelis acceded to requests to allow older Moslems to return for afternoon prayers. One Israeli policeman was lightly wounded during the violence.

Arabs hurled rocks at a Jewish-driven car this morning adjacent to Kibbutz Beit Rimon in the Galilee - well within the Green Line. The driver escaped unharmed, but his vehicle was damaged. Today\'s incident follows several similar attacks on Jewish motorists - and one ambulance - last night near Nazareth and other locations within pre-1967 Israel. A protracted gunfire exchange was reported last night near the Beitar Illit checkpoint on the bypass-bypass road from Jerusalem to Gush Etzion; the road is frequently used when the Tunnels Highway, constructed to bypass Bethlehem, is closed due to terrorist shooting.
