Terrorists attempted to attack another Jewish town today. They approached the community of Morag, in Gush Katif in the Gaza Strip, but an IDF lookout noticed them, and soldiers opened fire. The terrorists escaped back to PA-controlled territory. A similar terrorist attempt occurred at Morag last week.

IDF troops last night shot and killed an Arab about to hurl a firebomb at their position in the PLO-controlled town of Tul Karem. An exchange of gunfire erupted afterwards; no injuries were reported to the IDF force… Terrorists in a passing car shot at least 27 bullets - in accordance with the number of spent casings found at the scene - at children playing outside their homes in the Binyamin community of Beit El yesterday afternoon. No one was hurt. The road is a few hundred meters from the town, but bullets shot from there have punctured windows and doors in the past... Israeli forces arrested a total of eleven wanted terrorists over the past 24 hours in Judea and Samaria - mostly in the Hevron area.

Despite the large number of wanted terrorists apprehended over the past few weeks, the war against terrorism is far from over. Col. Shimshon Arbel, who heads the office of the coordinator of government activities in the territories, told The Jerusalem Post that many terrorists from cities in which the IDF has a strong presence have found refuge in Bethlehem. Arbel warned that the "relative calm" in the Bethlehem area can be deceiving, and that the city has actually become a hotbed of terrorists from all over Judea and Samaria who convey instructions to terrorists elsewhere to perpetrate attacks.
