A Jewish Agency delegation to North America is spreading word of a new neighborhood built specifically - but not exclusively - for American olim (immigrants). The community, called Kiryat Ohr Moshe, is under construction in Kokhav Yaakov, located just six miles north of Jerusalem. The new houses in Kiryat Ohr Moshe will be custom-designed to accommodate some of the amenities commonly found in North American homes. Of the 50 first-stage homes, 38 have already been purchased.

The Jewish Agency group, which includes Arutz-7 broadcaster Tamar Yonah, is encouraging not only individual families to move to the new neighborhood, but also entire communities led by their rabbis. The hope is that this "transfer" and re-rooting will contribute to a strong support network for new olim, who will have their friends, community and spiritual leader in Israel with them in their new home. Ohr Moshe, named for the late Torah giant Rabbi Moshe Feinstein, is being built under the auspices and guidance of Rabbi Mordechai Tendler of New Hempstead, New York.
