(Updated Tuesday 9:15AM) A delegation dispatched by the Jewish Agency For Israel (JAFI) to communities in North America has been spreading a message about a new neighborhood being built specifically (but not exclusively) for American olim (immigrants). The neighborhood, called Kiryat Ohr Moshe is under construction within the Jewish community of Kochav Yaakov, located just north of Jerusalem. The new houses in Kiryat Ohr will be custom designed to accommodate for some of the amenities commonly found in North American homes.

The group is not only encouraging individual families to move to the new neighborhood, but entire communities led by their rabbis in the hopes that this 'transfer' and re-rooting will contribute to a strong support network for new olim, as they will have their friends, community and spiritual leader in Israel with them in their new home. Arutz Sheva’s own radio news broadcaster and show host Tamar Yonah - a long time resident of the community of Kochav Yaakov – is part of the JAFI delegation.
